We want to celebrate our planet today and every day!

Happy Earth Day friends! Although it technically falls on April 22 every year, we should celebrate it every single day through small actions that help protect our planet. Collective small acts can have a huge impact! We’ll share some ideas that you can easily integrate into your daily routine to help make a difference—hold tight!

First, we want to say a big THANK YOU for using Notability. Because guess what—by simply going paperless with Notability you are helping to save trees and reducing your carbon footprint. Did you know that the pulp and paper industry is one of the largest industrial (air, water, and land) polluters in North America?! Going paperless can help save forest habitats, conserve water, and reduce waste pollution. That’s big!!

Blue Planet Stickers

As a token of our appreciation to you and a celebration of our incredible planet, we’ve released a new sticker pack available for FREE for everyone to enjoy.

With this sticker pack, we wanted to draw attention to how important our planet’s rich marine life is. Did you know that about 70% of the oxygen we breathe comes from the ocean? Oxygen is produced by marine plants such as phytoplankton, which play a big role in the oceanic food chain. Without phytoplankton marine life would starve. However, overpopulation of phytoplankton can also cause harm—it’s a delicate ecosystem! Paper manufacturers (which we already know to be one of the largest polluters) dispose organic waste that eventually flows into our oceans. This waste over nourishes phytoplankton and causes them to consume too much oxygen, which creates a hazardous environment for other marine life. This goes to show just how interconnected and fragile our planet’s ecosystems truly are. It’s our duty to collectively stay mindful and avoid actions that disrupt earths balance.

Here’s some ways you can help protect our environment

Whenever possible…

🛍 Upcycle old clothes (especially denim) or shop from vintage stores.
🧼 Choose eco-friendly, less-toxic cleaning products and detergents.
💦 Conserve water and take care not to toss chemicals down your drain.
🔋 Switch to rechargeable batteries.
🤧 Use cloth napkins, rags and towels.
☕️ Use recycled paper and paper products.
🪜 Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
📄 When printing documents, opt for double-sided instead of single.
🍹 Use metal or glass straws.
📦 Elect for standard shipping or combine online orders into a single shipment.
🪴 Start your own garden and grow your own herbs and vegetables. Bonus..it’s cheap and fun!
🥖 Bring your own shopping bag.
🚲 Walk and bike (carpool if you must drive).
♻️ Recycle and compost.
💡 Use energy efficient bulbs and appliances
🍓 Shop locally. Buy organic when you can (to reduce pollutants and pesticides).
